Waymo said on October 27 it would add nearly 250 square miles of service over the following week in Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Five Service Areas Grow

Waymo said on October 27 that it would expand its robotaxi service areas by nearly 250 square miles over the following week across five metros. In Los Angeles, service extends down the coast through the South Bay to Torrance. In Nashville, the zone reaches further south, including the zoo. Coverage on Orlando's east side nearly doubles, with expanded downtown service. [1] [2]

In San Diego, service extends north to La Jolla, including University City and Clairemont. In the Bay Area, Waymo added more of the southern region, including a connection to the Berryessa BART station in San Jose. The new areas appear in the Waymo app. [1] [2]

Scale

Waymo did not give a breakdown of square miles by city or say how many vehicles it was adding. According to Electrek, the company says it operates in 15 US metros and provides more than 500,000 paid rides per week, and is mapping Toronto ahead of a planned 2028 launch. [2]
