Ukraine's 92nd Separate Assault Brigade said it evacuated a wounded soldier from the front line by heavy-lift drone. Ground vehicles could not safely reach the soldier because of mines and enemy drones.
Heavy-lift rescue
The brigade announced on October 19 what it described as the first such evacuation, using a modified Ayu-Dag 6 hexacopter built by Gurzuf Defence. The aircraft weighs about 98 kilograms and was originally designed for military cargo. [1]
DroneLife noted that a single successful mission does not show routine medical evacuation is reliable, and that civilian use would need further safety testing and regulatory approval. [1]
