Samsung Electronics' preliminary third-quarter guidance shows operating profit of about 107.4 trillion won on sales of about 195 trillion won. Coverage ties the result to AI-driven memory demand.

The Guidance

Samsung Electronics on 8 October guided to consolidated third-quarter sales of about 195 trillion won and operating profit of about 107.40 trillion won. The company said Korean rules do not allow range estimates, so the figures are midpoints of ranges of 194-196 trillion won and 107.3-107.5 trillion won [1].

TechTimes converted the figures to about $146.4 billion in revenue and $80.6 billion in operating profit and called it another sequential record [2]. A TrendForce preview had expected a profit near 106 trillion won, with memory margins above 80% [3].

Memory Cycle Context

TechTimes, citing World Semiconductor Trade Statistics data, said memory segment revenue grew 305% in the first half of 2026 against 45% for logic, and that WSTS projects 2026 market revenue of about $1.655 trillion [2]. Analyst Malcolm Penn warned the correction will "go negative" when the cycle turns [2].
