EOS Defense Systems USA said it will build an upgraded Slinger remote weapon station in Huntsville, Alabama from 2027.

Huntsville Production

EOS Defense Systems USA announced on 7 October plans to begin U.S. production of a next-generation Slinger counter-drone system at its Huntsville, Alabama facility in 2027, according to Defence Industry Europe [1]. The system is in the final stages of development, and the company said domestic production would shorten supply chains, cut lead times and lower costs for U.S. and allied customers [1][2].

Capabilities

The upgrade adds improved sensing and selectable autonomy for a faster decision cycle, while keeping the stabilised platform that lets it engage targets on the move. It can engage drones and ground threats without reconfiguration [1][2]. CEO Shawn Baerlocher said the need for affordable, effective counter-drone capability is visible across the U.S. force, and EOS said further details will follow in the coming months [1].
