Splashdown

NASA's SpaceX Crew-12 undocked from the International Space Station on 7 October and was scheduled to splash down off the California coast at 11:34 a.m. EDT on 8 October after a 26-hour return, according to Fox 35 Orlando [2]. The crew launched on 13 February 2026 and spent about eight months in orbit [2].

Euronews reported that the capsule landed in the Pacific off San Diego with NASA's Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev and ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot [1].

European Record

Adenot spent 235 days in space, Euronews said, surpassing the previous European record of 201 days set by Luca Parmitano in 2019-2020. She also performed three spacewalks in August and September, becoming the first French woman to do so [1]. After medical checks in San Diego she is to travel to Houston and then to Cologne for a multi-week ESA recovery programme [1].
